The Influence of Nursing Organizational Culture, Professional Self-Concept and Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy on Career Preparation Behavior in Nursing Students with Clinical Practice

Abstract
Purpose : This study was to identify the perceived nursing organizational culture, professional self-concept, career decision-making self-efficacy, and career preparation behavior of nursing students who experienced clinical practice. In addition, this study attempted to identify the positive factors affecting career preparation behavior and to provide basic data for developing educational programs that can promote and strengthen the career preparation behavior of nursing students.

Methods : This study was conducted 219 undergraduate nursing students who had experienced clinical practice. As data analysis, SPSS 23.0 version was employed to analyze the collected data.

Results : Career preparation behavior was correlated with nursing organizational culture, professional self-concept, and career decision-making self-efficacy. The factors that exercised an influence on career preparation behavior of nursing students were nursing organizational culture, professional self-concept, career decision-making self-efficacy, and their explanatory power was 36.8%.

Conclusion : It is necessary to develop a positive nursing organizational culture, professional self-concept and career decision-making self-efficacy to enhance and strengthen the career preparation behavior of nursing students.
